Atlas LSAT Teachers (a.k.a. 99th% scores are not enough)
The strength and experience of our teaching team is what enables students to fully enjoy the Atlas LSAT Advantage.
Brian Birdwell was born and raised in Percilla, Texas (population 30 or so). These days he spends most of his time in Austin and the rest of it traveling. Like his colleagues in the test-prep world, he has a long list of interests and wears many hats: philosopher, poet, filmmaker, businessman, musician, leisure enthusiast, teacher, and student.
Growing up, Kim was “blessed” with three brothers – a fact that resulted in a childhood environment of virtually perpetual debate. Whether defending her lunchtime choice of fish sticks over sloppy joes or arguing her equal right to watch Rainbow Brite (despite being the lone affirmative vote on the matter), no opinion went unchallenged...
As co-creator of the Atlas LSAT curriculum and study guides, Dan Gonzalez has spent a good part of the last few years thinking about how to help you improve your LSAT score. In addition to a 99th percentile score on the LSAT, Dan brings a wealth of teaching experience to his work at Atlas LSAT. Dan graduated from Dartmouth...
Angela began her teaching career after graduating from Yale with a degree in philosophy. She taught her first classes in English as a second language in Seoul, South Korea at a variety of institutions including pre-schools, colleges, hospitals, and corporations. After two years of teaching, she took the LSAT and got admitted to several law schools...
Ian has been helping students prepare for the LSAT for 10 years. Ian is a true LSAT geek and loves to take new tests whenever they're released. During this time Ian has worked with hundreds of students in Austin, Boston, and Seoul, South Korea, in classrooms and in one-to-one tutoring sessions. Although his 178 average score on real tests demonstrates his mastery of the topic, he works hard to insure that students of all scoring levels are able to develop techniques and skills that will help them improve on the LSAT.
Mike Kim realized early on that he had a knack for standardized exams, and began teaching the SAT while still in high school. Sure, Mike's love of logic puzzles and advanced math concepts ensured that he would have a packed social calendar, but what he loved doing most during his teenage years ...
If you wander into Stacey's family room, you'll always find a few Games magazines scattered around, as well as at least one magazine dedicated entirely to logic games. These aren't to help her become a better LSAT teacher; she just enjoys spending her spare time doing logic and other puzzle games. It gets pretty cold up in Canada...
A second year law student at Yale Law School, Aileen is thrilled to be working with Atlas LSAT in New York and New Haven. She has taught and tutored the LSAT in Chicago and Las Vegas and now looks forward to bragging about future former Atlas LSAT students as they become maverick litigators living out their Law & Order inspired dreams...
Jiehae’s first standardized test encounter occurred in the fourth grade, when her mother asked her to take the SAT for “this really fun summer camp.” Many years of math/science/computer camps and schools later, mom’s sneaky tactics paid off (though not in the expected way) with a career in test prep that has spanned the SAT, GMAT, GRE, MCAT, TOEFL, and TOEIC...
For six years, Matt Sherman came home from 6-8 hours of private tutoring and a 4–hour class to a nice glass of wine to untangle the mind after a days worth of LSAT explanations and admissions consulting. For the last eight months, however, he came home from work on a vineyard to a nice logic game and/or reading comprehension passage. Interestingly, he can’t seem to separate his two passions.
After achieving a 99th percentile score on the LSAT, Matt thought he was off to law school...
Noah has worked in education for years, beginning in 2001 with his first public school class in Harlem. There he learned - through painful trial and error - the fundamentals of lesson planning, effective lesson delivery and the art of handing out stickers and detentions. He then taught mathematics ...
